The Compulsory Basket


It's an immutable law of the universe that you can't call yourself an artist until you've painted a realistic-looking basket of fruit.

So here's my offering: a wicker basket of fruit being tickled by the Areca palm on my sunporch.

Watercolor, 8.5x11.

I think I got the peach fuzz pretty good, the red apple is nice and I did have a lot of fun with the shadows here.
