The Gladiolas

This 8.5x11 watercolor was done on a glassed-in sunporch in the Petaluma house.

I don't often paint flowers, but now, after a couple of years, I really like this painting.

It's taught me that flowers need to be painted "in the flesh" in order to catch the light through the petals.

I may just do a few more flower paintings...
